Description:
Engineering has designed Main Street Drainage Improvements Project. The improvements begin at an outfall adjacent to Hilton Elementary School and extend north east along Main Street to Ferguson Ave. This includes the design of the storm sewer system within the roadway. The proposed design will help relocate the existing storm sewer out from under an existing building at Saint Andrews Episcopal Church and alleviate flooding at the Main Street underpass with the second phase of design and construction.
Engineering will be hosting a Public Information Session, Thursday, February 11th, 2016, from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm at the Main Street Library located at 110 Main Street, Newport News, Virginia 23601. The purpose of this meeting is to review project scope, answer citizen questions, and solicit community input for different aspects of the project. Written and oral comments will be welcomed.
